Assume I’m a far Right leader & I want to take over the world. If I wanted to take over the world, I’d need the US military, but how would I overcome the obstacles to gaining control of the US military?
I’d need to discredit the MSM. Certainly, Biden’s done that.
I’d need to disarm the Left. They’ve done that to themselves; Biden certainly helped.
I’d need to establish precedents that would allow me to imprison people at will. Public health has done that; who’s been a more zealous advocate of public health power than Biden?
I’d need control of the Internet. Again, Biden’s done that.
I’d need SCOTUS to be hostile of and suspicious towards the Left. Biden & Schumer and their threats to & intimidation of SCOTUS have done that. (Think Kavanaugh or Barrett are going to care what happens to the Left now?)
I’d need the public to HATE the Left. Biden’s done that.
I’d need the public to be desperate. Biden’s done that.
I could go on, but see the point? Biden has essentially recreated the environment that led to Hitler, and who would want to recreate the environment that led to Hitler?
If I wanted to exterminate the LGBTQ+ community, what would be better than monkeypox, which empowers the CDC to do pretty much ANYTHING to that community? Sure, Biden won’t do it, but how much longer is he going to be running the CDC to whom he gave all those lovely powers & authority? You think anybody’s going to care what the NYT claims the CDC is doing (even if you’re silly enough to assume the NYT would criticize the CDC)?
If I wanted to suppress the US, what could be better than 1/2 the nation wanting the suppression & the other half being too unarmed & too sick & too hated to do much about it?
Friends, what if we’re all wrong about this? What if the Left’s apparent victories are merely the prelude to something worse? An excuse to impose a right-wing dictatorship to “fix” what the Left has wrought? If so, it’d be the oldest trick in the book, literally straight out of Machiavelli.
Or, more plausibly I think, what if Biden is simply creating the circumstances in which the Right can triumph - idiocy, not conspiracy could put us in the same place.
I think the reason the Bible warns us not to put our faith in princes is that power is always corrupting & dangerous; it’s time to stop thinking about good guys vs bad guys & to start worrying about right and wrong. We should oppose all forms of concentrated power, not the people who temporarily wield such power because we’re going to have to fight just as hard to defend the rights of the vaccinated and we fought to defend the rights of unvaccinated.
In the end, we’re fighting for the Republic, not Republicans.
